First off, happy Groundhog Day. Thanks to Tizzed, I've been reminiscing today about the time we went to see the groundhog, which was awesome and also led to my own favorite blog entry ever. We didn't make it out there this year, though I was certainly awake at 3 in the morning so I suppose I could have, but I hear he didn't see his shadow and so spring is imminent. It was actually fairly nice out this morning, but I'm still dubious. (Originally I typed "dubois," which would make some sense if I'd gone to Punxsutawney this morning and then got lost.)
And despite my optimism about the drain being 95% fixed, it's back to not draining, which is quite depressing. (Also, we can't do laundry, so pretty soon we'll start depressing everyone around us too.) We're trying to pour vinegar down it to dissolve whatever's down there, but it doesn't seem to be helping much. There's only about one foot of pipe that could possibly be clogged given the current drainage/non-drainage patterns, so it's very hard to figure out what's going wrong. (Other than the obvious, which is that we're dealing with 80-year-old pipe that has probably been untouched for its entire history.)
However, the garbage can continues to be excellent. That's something. And I got the ingredients for seven-layer dip today at the newly improved and completely incomprehensible Giant Eagle in the Waterfront, so our Superbowl preparations are going well.
